Prishtinë, 19 June 2015-The Directorate for Investigation of Organized Crime after some intensive investigations carried out for several months regarding the criminal activity of a well-organized group, who constantly dealt with ‘smuggling with migrants’ toward the European Union countries, today on 19th of June 2015, Police in the Peja region (into three locations), has undertaken a police operation where three suspects were arrested and their houses with the accompanying facilities were checked. The suspects in cooperation with some other suspects have managed that in an organized manner to smuggle persons from Kosovo toward the EU countries for illegal material benefits. This group while performing this criminal activity had used the roads from Kosovo through the Serbian territory toward the Hungary with the aim to continue in the other European countries. For transporting of these victims, this group has used various transports such as vehicles and regular bus lines to Serbia. The price for one migrant was from 1500-2200 Euros, depending on the destination. During the so far investigation process there were identified about 15 victims who were deceived by this criminal group. The identified migrants are from the all Kosovo regions.The arrested suspects are:• L. S. born in 1973 m/a/k• B. S. born in 1979 m/a/k• V. M. born in 1981 m/a/kDuring this operation as material evidences there were seized: • 1 (one) AK- 47• 7 (seven) cartridges, caliber 7.62• 3 (three) mobile phones• Other relevant documents as material evidences. The suspects have been sent to police custody for further judicial procedure based on the prosecutor’s order.The investigations of this case will continue in order to identify other possible suspects.
