Prishtina, 5th of November 2021

Kosovo Police, respectively the police officers of the Regional Border Directorate East – Kaçanik and Police Station for Border Surveillance in Gjilan, during the performance of their tasks on preventing and detecting all kind of smuggling, on 04.11.2021, at about 19:40, near the border line with the Republic of Serbia in the village of Muçibaba, have identified and stopped a suspicious vehicle (van) with Serbian license plates, which could have had smuggled goods.

The driver of the vehicle M.DZ (1983), a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, in order to evade customs control, entered the Republic of Kosovo through the illegal routes from the Republic of Serbia. During the search of the suspected vehicle, smuggled goods were found, 15 electric stoves ‘VAILLANT’ which serve for central heating.

The competent prosecutor was notified about the case for further legal actions, as well as the Kosovo Customs.
