Kosovo Customs and Kosovo Police in order to properly inform public opinion regarding article published on (11.04.2014) in portal “Express”, where it is stated that ““Factory” of Adidas in Podujeva is not the only one in Kosovo, in these falsifications are involved police officers as well”, we respond against this untrue article and we clarify as following: On 10 April 2014 Kosovo Customs together with Tax Administration during the last two days conducted a joint operation in order to implement the order of Basic Court in Prishtina that included raid in 4 locations and search for documents in one location.Three raids are realized in Prishtina at various points, because it was suspected that there were falsified goods. All raids are successfully realized and there were confiscated a considerable amount of falsified goods.While during raid in the Podujeva region, customs officers have discovered a workshop for falsification of clothing products. Function of this workshop was immediately stopped and legal procedures have been initiated.In this workshop are found necessary materials that served for falsification of products. Among many products are also found falsified logos of brand like Adidas, Nike, Tom Taylor that were used to put them on clothes without labels in order to deceive consumers. All products are confiscated and after the completion of investigational procedures it is expected that criminal charge be filed for illegal production, falsification of trade brands and deceiving consumers. It is worth mentioning that Kosovo Customs and Kosovo Police react against the untrue article in portal “Express” and at the same time assures the opinion that in this case there are not involved or suspected any police officers, including those of economic crimes as stated in the article.Kosovo Police and Kosovo Customs remain committed in continuing to realize their duties and law enforcement, as well as right information of opinion regarding realization of investigational operations and at the same time we request from the portal in question to publish this joint institutional official clarification.With respect.
