First case (11) arrested persons:
The Directorate of Investigation of Organized Crime, after an intensive international investigation conducted for several months, regarding the criminal activity of a well-organized group which continuously dealt with smuggling with migrants toward European Union states, today on 05.11.2014 in the regions of: Mitrovica and Prizreni, (in twelve locations), undertook the operation coded “RANDO”, in which case a structured group of 11 suspects were arrested.Suspects in cooperation with the suspects from other states such as Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, France and Germany, have managed to smuggle persons in an organized way, from Kosovo in the direction of the EU states for illegal material benefits.The investigation was conducted in close cooperation with the Hungarian, Austrian, Switzerland, French and German police authorities. For deeper and qualitative investigation Kosovo Police organized operational meetings, in order to share information and coordinate activities in this investigation. During the criminal activities this group used roads from Kosovo through the territory of Serbia toward Hungary, in order to continue from there toward other European states.This group used various transporting means to transport the victims such as vehicles and regular bus lines to Serbia. The price for one migrant varied from 1800 – 3500 euro, depending final destination. During the actual investigation process, over 100 (hundred) victims of this crime are identified, all of them deceived by this criminal group. Identified migrants are from all regions of Kosovo. Copies of various passports and other relevant documents for procedures as material evidence 2. 1-(one) riffle AK 473. 1-(one) hunting riffle4. 2 (two) revolvers of various calibers5. 123 (one hundred and twenty three) cartridges6. 800 euro cash7. 21 (twenty one) mobile phonesSuspects are sent to detention for further legal proceedings. Investigations for this case will continue in cooperation with other states to identify other possible suspects. Second case from Border Police four (4) persons arrested:As a result of work, increased vigilance and intensified activities in combating and prevention of smuggling with migrants, police units of Border Police have realized a successful operation in prevention of trans-border criminality. On 04.11.2014 at about 10:10 at the Prishtina International Airport are stopped Turkish citizens S.K. and M. Ç, who traveled from Istanbul to Prishtina, where during the performance of official police duties it was realized that their intention was suspected to be that through Kosovo to go toward the European Union states and for that they would pay 6000 euros to the respective persons (suspects).Based on this case and previous information, the investigation section of Border Police achieved to identify the suspected persons suspected to have organized their smuggling and police units immediately undertook police operation for raid and arrest at the Prizreni region. This police operation resulted with the arrest of four suspects: • L. M. male kosovar/albanian• A. K. male kosovar/ albanian• L. K. female kosovar/ albanian and • E. K. male Turkish citizen Suspect already arrested are suspected that in organized way and with the intention of material benefit have arranged the coming of foreign citizens, mainly from Asia and Africa, as visitors in Kosovo and after that their smuggling toward European Union states.Therefore, regarding this case there is a ground suspicion that the abovementioned suspects in cooperation are suspected of committing criminal act of smuggling with migrants and the same by the authorization of competent prosecutor from Basic Prosecution in Prishtina are sent in detention.
