On 28th January 2015, at about 22:00 were arrested two persons on the reasonable suspicion to have committed the criminal offence of ‘Smuggling with migrants’

A police unit within the section (2) in Vushtrri, while patrolling near the highway Vushtrri-Mitrovicë, in a parking has identified a minibus with plates of the Republic of Serbia, on which were entering some persons.
After legitimating the suspects, one driver of the minibus and the other owner of the company with inscription ‘Italian Petrol’ registered in the Republic of Serbia, has resulted that at the same time and location in question, they had come to take five persons citizens of the Republic of Kosovo in order to transport them toward the Belgrade, while in the minibus police has encountered in five persons, citizens of the Republic of Kosovo who then were sent to the police station for interviewing in quality of witnesses.

From the statements provided by the witnesses it is known that the suspects had come in the above mentioned location to take the persons according to a previous agreement between them, in order to travel toward the Belgrade, while their destination were western countries.

After analyzing the circumstances and other consisting elements of the criminal offence, by the order of the prosecutor the suspects P.T. 58 years old and D.R. 58 years old, both of the Serbian ethnicity, citizens of the Republic of Serbia were given police detention of 48 hours.

The initiated case as criminal offence ‘smuggling with migrants’ will be further proceed.
