General Director Colonel Gazmend Hoxha, associated by the Director of the Department of Investigations Colonel Agron Nezaj and other associates, after successful meetings during the international conference of police chiefs in San Diego, also visited New York State where they had a number of meetings of special importance for the institution of Kosovo Police.

At the general consulate of Kosovo in New York, the delegation from the Kosovo Police was received by the Ambassador, Mr. Blerim Reka with colleagues where the importance of international cooperation, especially in the field of security was discussed.

Director Hoxha also had an official visit to the New York Police Department (NYPD) during his stay in New York, where he was received by Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Rebecca Ulam Weiner NYPD – Department of Intelligence and Counterterrorism Bureau. During the visit to the NYPD, Director Hoxha was briefed about the work and operation of the NYPD Operations Center.

In honor of the victims of the terrorist attack on September 11 2001 where 2977 civilians lost their lives, representatives from the Kosovo Police visited the Museum and the memorial in commemoration of these victims.

Among the important visits was the meeting with the District Prosecutor Mr. Michael E. McMahon, the member of the office of Senator Jessica Scarcella Spanton and the community liaison officer Ms. Vanessa Liman.

Director Hoxha also had working dinner with Jim Xhema and the Chairman of the Pan Albanian Federation – VATRA, Mr. Ilmi Berisha, where he used the opportunity to thank them for their dedication and contribution given to the Republic of Kosovo.

The visit of the Kosovo Police delegation in the United States was concluded with a meeting with the American-Albanian Police Association (AALEA) as well as a visit to the Albanian cultural center in Staten Island.

The meeting of General Director Colonel Hoxha with AALEA was honored by many Albanian-American members/police officers who traveled from different countries of the USA to be present at the meeting with the KP delegation. At the same time, the General Director was handed a check in the amount of 60,000 dollars for the family of the Hero of Kosovo, Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku.

In these meetings during the official visit to the USA, it was confirmed once again the permanent cooperation and the continuation of the support from the institutions of the United States of America for the Kosovo Police on its journey to serve the country and its citizens with integrity.
