The General Director of the Kosovo Police (KP), Mr. Rashit Qalaj welcomed today, in an official meeting, in the KP General Directorate premises, the American Ambassador Mr. Philip S. Kosnett, accompanied by American ICITAP officials.

Director QALAJ expressed his appreciation to the American Ambassador, Mr. Kosnett, for his visit and continuous support of the United States to the Kosovo Police and at the same time informed the participants that Kosovo Police remains committed to the fulfillment of its legal duties and obligations vis-à-vis citizens without any distinctions, on behalf of security and order in the Republic of Kosovo.

This meeting topic was the overall security situation in Kosovo, the combat against all kinds of crimes, the increase and strengthening of police integrity and capacities, the continuation of cooperation with all relevant local and international institutions, as well as the KP goal towards the membership in international organizations.

Ambassador Kosnett praised the KP’s efforts and contributions towards the safety of all citizens, and was encouraged by the Kosovo Police policy of inclusion and fair and equal treatment of all ethnicities.
Ambassador Kosnett confirmed the US Embassy’s continued support to the Kosovo Police, particularly relating to strengthening the rule of law in Kosovo.
