On May 29, 2019, in the Regional Directorate of Police in Prizren the General Director of Kosovo Police Mr. Rashir QALAJ and the General Director of Albania Police Mr. Ardi VELIU signed the Understanding Agreement for joint patrolling between the Kosovo Police and Police of the state of Albania.

Referring the need and importance of the ongoing cooperation and joint patrolling between both police agencies, with the aim to increase the elements of Road Safety in Albania, even this year during the foreseen period of summer season, the police officers of traffic from the Republic of Kosovo will perform joint patrolling with the traffic units of the Republic of Albania in the state of Albania.

Referring the number of the Kosovo citizen who goes for summer vacations in touristic areas of Albania, the great number of motor vehicles that circulate in the main road axes as well as with the aim to increase the traffic safety for citizens of both countries, the joint patrols with Albania have always been successful, therefore as result of such evaluations, the Understanding Agreement was once more signed.

At the same time, the joint patrolling, as primary aim has the increase of efficiency of saving people’s life in traffic accidents and a more rigorous implementation of traffic legislation, for creation of a safer environment for all the citizens who use the road that connects both countries.
