After several-months intensive investigations today, on 09. 11.2016, beginning from 08.00, the Investigation Section of the Border Police Department, assisted from the patrolling units of the respective police stations, Customs and AUV, conducted a wide operation of raids in eight different locations of the Region of Gjilan, Ferizaj and Prizren. 

During the raids there have been found and seized as material evidences 54 animals (cattle and cows) suspected to have been illegally smuggled, mainly from Serbia and Macedonia, hundreds of matriculations, passports and other documents suspected to have been falsified and served for smuggling of animals. Also there have been seized two weapons, a revolver and a hunting rifle. 

With such illegal actions, avoiding customs clearance, the smugglers damaged the state budget and significantly the health of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, as the smuggled animals have not been controlled by the competent health authorities.

After conducting raids the following suspects have been arrested;  

H. SH;  A. B;  A.A;  D.R;  I.H;   A.P;  M.H;  N.H;  Z. Z.  and M H   suspected that in continuance, in an organized way and in cooperation have conducted several criminal actions which are mainly related to the organized crime, smuggling goods, documents forgery, legalization of the false content, prohibited trade, unauthorized possession of weapons and ammunition etc.

Among the arrested persons there is a veterinary and two employees of the Veterinary Ambulance in  

Ferizaj 

This operation of raids and arrests titled ‘Matrikula ‘ has been conducted with the order of the Prosecution, respectively the Basic Court in Gjilan.
