Prishtina, 14th of June 2023

The Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (DHKEK), after receiving information from the Ministry of Health that a business has applied to a public tender with the documents suspected to be forged, coordinated with the Ministry of Health and at the request of The Pharmaceutical Inspectors of the Ministry of Health, today on 14.06.2023 assisted the inspectors to carry out an inspection in a business in Pristina.

The control by the competent authorities is focused on the verification of the documentation related to the pharmaceutical product “insulin”, based on the received information that the business in question does not have a license to import insulin and still participated in the tender announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in 2020 for this pharmaceutical product.

Competent inspectors have ordered the business in question to quarantine the entire amount of insulin until a future decision, and it remains for the pharmaceutical inspectors to develop other legal procedures against the business in question according to their competence. Customs officials also came at the scene.

At about 19:00, on 14.06.2023, the assistance to pharmaceutical inspectors of the Ministry of Health (MOH) was completed.
