The implementation of police plan on managing the security during the election process in the northern municipalities in Kosovo

Prishtina, 23rd of April  2023

Kosovo Police, as timely informed, has made its operational plans by undertaking all the necessary police actions and measures within its mandate and legal authorizations in order to provide security and the smooth process of the election the northern municipalities of Kosovo.

The implementation of this operational plan is going on in accordance with the planned stages in order to create a safe and calm environment for all the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo during the voting process today, as we call it on day “z”, in which are engaged a sufficient number of police officers.

KP’s objective, as always, is to guarantee the free exercise of the right to vote through the performance of tasks in a professional manner, in taking preventive actions against negative phenomena and criminal activities that would in any way endanger security, peace and stability in the country.

We also want to encourage all citizens to cooperate with the Kosovo Police, the State Prosecutor’s Office, the CEC and to report any illegal cases related to security, the electoral process and beyond as these reports will to be handled confidentially.
