           The General Director of Kosovo Police (KP) Mr. Shpend MAXHUNI, accompanied by his senior staff and regional directors, today on 18 April 2018 hosted in an official meeting the general of KFOR Mr. Salvatore CUOCI, also accompanied by his staff and regional commanders of multi-national brigades of KFOR.

In the meeting held in the facilities of the General Director of KP, Mr. Shpend MAXHUNI initially thanked the general Salvatore CUOCI about his visit, and at the same time qualified the meeting as very important and welcomed by Kosovo Police.  

The director MAXHUNI through a comprehensive presentation of the organizational structure and police functioning, in front of the participants presented the vision, mission, values and strategical objectives of Kosovo Police in fulfilling its legal duties and obligations, for the good of order and safety in the Republic of Kosovo.

            Kosovo Police has professional capacities and is prepared to provide safety, combat organized crime, trans-border crime, as well as cooperate closely with all relevant national and international institutions, with the aim to further advance the mutual cooperation in the field of security and prevention of terrorism and violent extremism. 

It was emphasized that Kosovo Police has good cooperation with KFOR authorities, which cooperation showed positive results in various fields, including successes in joint patrols, mainly in the border line.

The Director MAXHUNI during this meeting presented the engagements and great work that Kosovo Police is doing in many fields, especially the international cooperation through the Directorate of International Cooperation in the Field of Law-enforcement (ILECU).

As a result of the need of commitment, engagement and involvement of Kosovo Police in international mechanisms, such as INTERPOL, director Maxhuni required from the general Mr. CUOCI, to support and help Kosovo Police to be member of it, which is one of the primary aims of KP. 

While the general Mr. CUOCI, also thanked Mr. MAXHUNI for the warm host and at the same time highly appreciated the work of Kosovo Police in general, especially in the so far cooperation with the authorities of KFOR.

                               Also the general Mr. CUOCI confirmed that care will be taken to continuing the cooperation and support, in various fields of joint interest, including the cooperation in the level of regional directorates of both institutions.

During the meeting, commitment was made for mutual cooperation also in the future, including the exchange of experiences and field trainings, with the aim to further advance both institutions, who have joint aims for the security of the country and citizens.

            The official meeting was concluded with a visit realized in the Operational Commanding Center of KP, where actually is being conducted a joint exercise of Kosovo Police, KFOR and other emergency institutions, exercise which was considered very important by the director MAXHUNI  and general  CUOCI.
