The Colonel from the Kosovo Police, the first international participant in the leadership course of the Department of Homeland Security of the United States of America
On April 24 – May 4, 2023, Kosovo Police COLONEL Aferdita Mikullovci attended the 16th session of the Department of Homeland Security leadership course in Glynco, Georgia (United States) on April 24 – May 4, 2023, with 27 United States local, county, and state police leaders as the very first international delegate.
The Colonel’s participation was made possible through joint cooperation and funding from the Department of Justice, International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (DOJ-ICITAP) and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). COLONEL Mikullovci was selected from ICITAP nominees worldwide.
Colonel Mikullovci emphasized that she feels privileged for the given opportunity and is proud of the participation of the Kosovo Police in this training as the first international participant. The exchange of experiences and the knowledge gained in this course, as I can say, is also the motto/mantra of the course “Lead by Heart”, which means putting people first, serving the community and serving with dedication for the country and the citizens.
The Embassy of the United States as a strategic and permanent partner of the Kosovo Police in continuity supports the Kosovo Police in capacity building as well as the advancement of KP staff with advanced training in the most prestigious security centers in the United States and by instructors with long experience in the field of security and law enforcement.
