As a result of intensive investigations, Kosovo Police has managed to arrest two other suspects, who are suspected to have been involved in the case of the armed robbery.
One of the suspects, already arrested (Y. M.) is the brother of the suspect killed in the scene, while the second person (U. M.) is their relative.
The relevant police units by the order of the competent Prosecution have conducted raids into two locations, where they have confiscated a vehicle which is suspected to having been used in the case as well as some electronic equipment – mobile phones, which will serve as evidences.
By the decision of the competent Prosecutor, to the arrested persons has been imposed the detention measure of 48 hours.
Kosovo Police remains committed in continuing the intensive investigations regarding the case.

Today on 27.12.2018 at about 15:35 o’clock, in the branch of NLB bank in Istog has occurred an armed robbery case.

Police units have undertaken immediate police actions to respond the scene and upon arriving at the location, they encountered in a suspect who possessed a long fire weapon as well as it was suspected to having kidnapped two individuals.

The suspect in attempting to flee the scene has fired with fire weapon towards the police officers, who to defend themselves and citizens around were forced to respond with fire weapons by neutralizing and wounding the suspect.

During the police intervention, as consequence of exchanging the shootings, one police officer was wounded seriously who then was taken for medical treatment in the regional hospital of Peja.

All the police units from the local, regional and central level in order to undertake all the necessary police actions have responded the scene, initially by securing the scene, the personnel and citizens, and to investigate the possible involvement of any other suspect.

During the examination of the scene, there was found a hand grenade, one pistol and one weapon AK-47 with ammunition, which were in the suspect’s possession.

Several hours later, the competent doctors confirmed the death of the police officer (I. D) who served in the police station in Istog, as well as about the death of the suspect (K. M) born on 1968 from Shushica e Ulët village – Istog.

From the so far investigations it result that the suspect has criminal background, who committed several offences in different European countries.

Kosovo Police remains committed in performing its legal duties and responsibilities with the aim to maintain the order and public peace, life of citizens and property as well as in prevention and arresting of perpetrators of various criminal offences.
