Prishtina, 4th of April 2023

The Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption in the Kosovo Police, respectively the Regional Unit for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption-Prishtina, in cooperation with the Office of Basic Prosecution in Pristina on 04.04.2023, in the series of the investigations carried out in the Kosovo Football Federation (FFK), have interviewed four people under suspicion of extortion, respectively misuse of the assets and interests of FFK.

These persons are suspected of having misused their authorizations with the aim of bringing illegal financial benefits to a foreign person by allowing the payment of the bill for the purchase of a car.

Therefore, as a result of the investigations carried out by the Regional Unit for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption-Prishtina, it is suspected that the aforementioned vehicle was illegally appropriated and registered in the name of a private person in the FKK, therefore the same was seized.

Based on these actions, the suspicion arose that the four persons are suspected of having committed the criminal acts:

• “Abuse of trust” and

• “Tax avoidance”

Therefore, in consultation and coordination with the competent Prosecutor from the Basic Prosecution Office in Prishtina, after the interview suspects were released in a regular procedure.
