On 03.02.2022 in the afternoon hours at the border crossing point Bernjak, from the direction of Serbia towards entering the Republic of Kosovo came one vehicle with a male person M.R. And another one cop passenger.

Border officers based on the official duties and procedures of border controls, stopped the vehicle and initiated the procedures of registration and verification of the vehicle and persons in it.

While conducting the police duties, border officers asked the person (driver) to park the vehicle at the parking place in order to continue with further police procedures but the driver while parking drove fast back in the direction of territory of Serbia.

Having in mind the integrated joint border crossing point and the possibility to pass fast in the Serbian part, the police officers could not stop the vehicle. Related to the case, the competent prosecutor was informed ah recommended to initiate the case on “Obstructing official persons in performing official duties”.

In order to investigate the behavior and actions of police officers, Kosovo Police based on the official duty has informed the Police Inspectorate for further investigation and competence.
