Prishtina, 1st of April 2020

Kosovo Police initiated investigations after receiving an information by the Ministry of Health related to a text message with disinformation content which in fact was not sent by Kosovo health institution.

The content of this message that circulated through social network and several online portals was calling citizens for analyses on Coronavirus at UCCK, misinforming the opinion and citizens.

Kosovo Police in close consults with the State Prosecutor undertook all immediate necessary actions and managed to identify the person/s suspected to be behind this message.

What we can confirm is that this message was a fraud, it was initially made and sent by a person already known to the police.

Kosovo Police in cooperation with the State Prosecutor are undertaking all necessary procedures related to the case.
