Kosovo Police, with its units, in the function of creating a greater road traffic safety, prevention of accidents as well as undertaking legal measures against all participants violating road traffic rules, conducted an operational plan regarding the “identification, punishment and removal unregistered vehicles from the road traffic”. 

This police operation has been conducted from 05 up to 12 April 2017, by all police units and based on the data from the field it resulted to be successful.

During this period there have been imposed 332 fines for offences regarding the driving of the unregistered vehicles, while 169 vehicles have been removed from the road traffic as well as 47 plates. 

Kosovo Police calls all road traffic participants that in the case of participation in traffic to respect all laws in the field of road traffic, otherwise, KP shall continuously act in realization of such duties and operations in the function of law-enforcement in general and undertaking legal activities, especially creation of a better situation for all participants in road traffic. 

Therefore, in this field, it is required a commitment, cooperation and vigilance from all of us, because we all may contribute in creation of a greater safety in the road traffic in our country.

Thanks to the engagement and additional measures of the police units and thanks to the sensitizing of the traffic participants, for the comparing period January – March 2017, for the same period January – March 2016, there has been a decrease of accidents with fatality for -18.18 percent.

Kosovo Police remains committed in implementation of its legal duties and responsibilities, with the aim to increase general safety in Kosovo, including road traffic safety.
