Prishtina, 27th of June 2023

Referring to the developments and the activities that might occur tomorrow in the occasion of celebration of “Kurban Bajram” in the Republic of Kosovo that starts in the early morning hours (5:00) as well as “Vidovdan” same day starting around 7:00h. Kosovo Police, according to official duties, on 28.06.2023 has undertaken planning and operational actions for the management of the security situation in the country.

This year, as in previous ones, in order for the situation to be peaceful and without incidents, there have been foreseen some measures and strategic objectives during the next day, those are:

• Preparing and undertaking the necessary planning, coordination, preventive and operative measures so that the activities take place in normally, order and public peace.

• Increasing security measures to guarantee order, peace and public safety.

• Guaranteeing freedom of movement for all citizens.

• Traffic flow control and management on all main, regional and local roads.

• Engagement of police units for re-orientation of traffic on those roads where there may be temporary closures of the road or any lane.

• Applying legal powers and authorizations in various situations and taking measures against all violators of the law, in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kosovo.

The celebration of Vidovdan will take place in Graçanica from 7:00h therefore the traffic of vehicles will be temporarily restricted at the entrances and exits from the municipality of Graçanica, precisely at the entrance to the village Mramor and on the other side at the entrance to the Veterrniku neighborhood, where the vehicles will be redirected to alternative routes until the end of the Vidovdan celebration.

Referring to the police planning, the senior management of the KP hosted the international partners in an official meeting, and informed them about the planning and police activities for the next day where the purpose of these plans is to establish a calm and safe environment for all citizens regardless.

The Kosovo Police remains committed to the realization of its legal duties and authorizations, the implementation of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo in order to guarantee a peaceful and safe environment for all citizens.

At the same time, the Police invites the citizens to celebrate peacefully and asks for understanding from the traffic participants in case of possible temporary interruption of the roads or lanes during the celebrations, because if necessary they will redirect the vehicles to alternative roads for circulation and movement.
