Kosovo Police with the aim of increasing the level of road safety and decrease of accidents, in continuity undertakes actions in implementing laws in the road traffic field.
During the period 01.01.2018 up to 31.08.2018 a considerable number of offenders have been identified, below are the statistics of the fines imposed by police:

In the aspect of prevention, awareness rising, police undertook the following measures:
• There has been implemented the project for traffic safety “Move Safely in Traffic”. Through traffic units and police stations, there have been delivered leaflets to participants in traffic. Also the project has been promoted in social networks and media, including lectures and discussions in school institutions.
• There has been implemented the project for traffic safety “For a safer year in traffic”. The project which aimed raising awareness of traffic participants including diaspora and foreign citizens. Delivery of leaflets has been done in all border points and throughout the territory of the country.
• It has been continued with the regular contacts, discussions, trainings and lectures at school institutions regarding traffic safety.
• Also within the preventive activities KP has engaged police patrols with civilian vehicles as well as police units operating with drones.
Kosovo Police continues to require and at the same time call all road traffic accidents to respect legal provisions, to increase vigilance, increase care in respecting rules deriving from the traffic laws, to guarantee a greater safety for all road traffic participants, with the aim of avoiding road accidents in general, especially those with fatality.
Even though for Kosovo Police, the punishment is not the primary aim, it will continue to undertake legal measures for all road traffic participants that are in conflict with the traffic laws.
