Kosovo Police, respectively Directorate of Investigation of Trafficking with Human Beings has successfully drafted and implemented in a country level, the operational plan “March-April 2017”, regarding the trafficking with human beings.
During the implementation of the plan, besides the various police units, there participated also municipal inspectors of respective municipalities as well as officers from the Kosovo Tax Administration.
During this period with the aim to prevent and investigate this phenomenon, there have been searched seventy-one (71) bars suspected to have committed activities of such nature throughout the country. Among them, thirty-four (34) bars have been closed by the municipal inspectors of the respective municipalities.
In those bars, police legitimated 389 females (238 citizens of Albania, 137 citizens of Kosovo, 7 citizens of Serbia, 5 citizens of Macedonia, 1 citizens of Bulgaria and 1 citizens of Moldavia).
Foreign citizens who did not present work and residence permission in the country, have been seized documents and have been addressed in the Directorate of Migration and Foreigners.
Police while controlling these bars, seized relevant evidences related to the possibility of trafficking with human beings.
