Kosovo Police, respectively the Directorate of Investigation of Trafficking with Human Beings while combating trafficking with human beings has constantly undertaken operational investigative actions for prevention, identification and arresting of suspects involved in such illegal activities.  

Case 1.

Kosovo Police in the function of prevention of trafficking with human beings and implementation of the order from the Basic Court in Peja, for control in the Peja region, on 22.09.2016, in cooperation with the municipal inspectors, sanitary, environment, market inspectors etc, conducted a check in for locations, where by the competent inspectors there have been irregularities in the necessary documents as well as in the sanitary aspect. Except fines by the competent inspectors, there have been temporary seized as material evidences three mobile phones as well as dvr of cameras. 

During this operation, there have been found 28 females from Albania, who had no residence permit and no work contracts, as well as 4 Kosovar females without proper work documentation. All actions have been undertaken by the competent bodies based on the applicable laws into force.

Case 2.

After continuous investigations conducted by the central Section of Investigation of Trafficking with Human Beings, led by the Basic Prosecution, the department of serious crimes in Prizren, in cooperation with police authorities of the Republic of Albania, relevant evidences have been collected, and as a result of such efforts on 23.09.2016, under the suspicion of the criminal offence “Trafficking with Human Beings”, there has been arrested the suspect  (S.Q. citizen of Albania ) and by the decision of the prosecutor he has been taken to custody for 48 hours for further legal proceedings.

Case 3.

On 23.09.2016, in Gjilan, Kosovo Police, arrested two suspects L.K. (1996) and F.Q. (1957), citizen of the Republic of Kosovo, with the suspicion of committing the criminal offence “Trafficking with Human Beings”. In this case there has been identified a trafficking victim, who has been treated based on the standard operating procedures foreseen for the trafficking victims.

By the decision of the state prosecutor, the suspects have been taken to detention for 48 hours for further legal proceedings.
