Kosovo Police in implementing anti-COVID measures

General Director of Kosovo Police, Mr. Samedin Mehmeti, through the digital platform held an official meeting with deputy directors, directors of departments, divisions, regional directors and directors of directorates. In this virtual meeting was discussed the realization of objectives and operational planning of the Kosovo Police regarding the recent decisions of the institutions of Republic of Kosovo on the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as other important topics related to police work.
Referring to the decisions of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and referring to the operational police planning, Director Mehmeti asked the police superiors that all activities and measures so far be taken in accordance with the decision of the Government, in full coordination with all competent institutions in the field of health and other relevant institutions and in accordance with the commitments and tasks according to the plan.
Operational planning aims at cooperation and coordination of activities with central and local institutions that are competent to combat and prevent the risks of the virus in question and to deal with situations of this type, in terms of coordination and timely response.
In order to respect the protection measures, prevent the spread of the pandemic by highlighting the interest of public health, the Kosovo Police has started in time to carry out concrete tasks throughout the territory of Kosovo, as planned. The Police is carrying joint traffic controls, in passenger transport, to shopping malls, business premises, border crossings, etc., including the imposition of fines on those who do not respect these measures.
Kosovo Police, at the same time calls all citizens, institutions and businesses to respect the latest decisions taken by the government of the country, to adhere to the rules and to respect the anti-COVID measures, so that once again we can achieve the reduction of numbers of those affected and protect public health together, otherwise punitive measures will be taken.
