Kosovo Police in cooperation with Kosovo Customs have seized over two million euro in cash, suspected as falsified

Prishtinë, 10 March 2017

Kosovo Police, respectively the Border Police, in BCP – Vermicë, in cooperation with Customs officers on 10.03.2017 at about 00:30 o’clock, at the entrance of the Republic of Kosovo have stopped a TAXI vehicle with Albanian plates for a detailed control.

The vehicle was driven B. D, born on 1972, male, citizen of Albania and the passenger: F. B, born on 1980, male, citizens of Cameron, with residence permission in France

During the joint control by the officers of both institutions, in the vehicle’s luggage inside a bag were found some suspicious banknotes as falsified, with the value of: 500, 200, 100 and 50 euro. Together with them was also found a packaged sheet cut in dimensions of the banknotes measures: 500, 200, 100, 50 euro.

After counting the falsified banknotes, there resulted to be: two million, one hundred and thirty one (2.131.000) euro, as well as two thousand, seven hundred and thirty three pieces of white sheets, that would be used to process the banknotes of 500 euro. 

Police, as material evidences seized the suspected banknotes as falsified, as well as eight (8) bottles with chemical preparations used for falsification, three (3) aluminium foils, one package with plastic gloves, two syringes, two passports of Cameron, one driver license and one residence permission of France. 

By the State Prosecutor’s order – Serious Crimes Department in Prizren, the two suspects were taken to detention.

        Kosovo Police and Kosovo Customs remains committed in mutual cooperation with the aim to prevent and combat all negative phenomenon in the country.
