Strengthening of public safety and order, the prevention of criminal acts as well as undertaking of police measures related to the situation in the country, including the developments in the north of the country, remain amongst the priorities of Kosovo Police.

Since the placement of 9 (nine) barricades by persons/criminal groups, the security situation in the north of the Country is still the same, where as a consequence of these barricades into two border points “Jarinje” and “Bërnjak”, the roads are still closed..

Referring this situation, the blockage of roads, cases/attacks by criminal groups, have created new working circumstances and have also affected the lives of the citizens of that area, who cannot move freely as well as are not having easy access to their necessary services.

Despite these circumstances created in the north of the country, the Kosovo Police is engaging in all forms to fulfill the demands and needs of the citizens without distinction, as well as to work in the prevention of criminal acts, which are being organized by persons involved in organized criminal groups from inside and outside Kosovo.

In this direction, based on the information it possesses, the Kosovo Police is cooperating closely with the relevant security institutions, in undertaking the necessary legal measures, in the interest of preserving the constitutional order of the RKS, enabling free movement and bringing suspects to judicial bodies.

The Kosovo Police continues to be welcomed by citizens at the country level, including by the residents in the north of the country, who cooperate with police units that provide security and police services to citizens without distinction.
