Prishtinë, 31st of December 2023

On 31.12.2023, at midnight, after a commitment of the Fast Intervention Units (FIU) – North in cooperation with (FIU) – East in Jashanicë the municipality of Leposaviq, a white Mercedes was caught, moving from Serbia to the Republic of Kosovo through unauthorized border crossing routes.

The suspect, noticing that he was noticed to by the operators of the FIU, had abandoned the vehicle and fled in an unknown direction. After search of the vehicle, it was confirmed that it was filled with food items and alcoholic beverages.

Kosovo Police with its units are working with dedication in the management and control of the border line, as well as the prevention of criminal offenses related to smuggling or unauthorized crossings of the state border.

Relevant units were informed related to the case and the vehicle was sent to the Customs Terminal for further legal procedures.
