Weapons, ammunition, explosive devices and other military equipment have been found in the searches carried out in seven locations in the north of the country

Prishtina, 14th of October 2023 – The Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK), and Police of Kosovo (KP), informs the public opinion that in the series of commitment and conducting the police activities for maintaining the constitutional order, the provision of security and the prevention of criminal activities, the Police of Kosovo, respective relevant units, today implemented search orders in the northern part of the country.

The Special Prosecutor’s Office announces that by the order of the court, Kosovo Police has carried out searches in seven locations in the northern part of the country, related to the events of 24th of September, 2023.

These searches have been carried out in different locations, four in Mitrovica North, two in Zveçan and one in Banjska.

During these searches, in a basement of one of the three buildings-skyscraper in Mitrovica North, a quantity of ammunition, Kalashnikovs, zola, explosives, etc. were found.

Officials from EULEX also participated in these searches, while the EOD – KFOR was also present at the three skyscrapers, as well as the EOD from Kosovo Police at the scene.

Preliminary list of seized weapons and other equipment:

• 87 pieces of TM 100 explosives

• 3 grenade launcher (zola)

• 1 AK-47 automatic weapon

• 1 MRUD type anti-personnel mine

• 14 magazines

• Ammunition of different calibers

• 63 electric detonators

• 23 mechanical detonators

• 1 watch for activation

• 1 M79 hand grenade

• 3 sparking plugs

• Bags, radios, bulletproof vests, medical equipment, armor (vest for carrying magazines), gas mask, batteries, etc.
