Kosovo Police with the aim of informing the public rightly regarding the statements of Mr. Molliqaj in the conference held today on (13.04.2017), where among the others has stated and published the articles that “Police is led by the criminal structures of KDP, and “For years the interceptions from Kosovo Police have been done illegally”, reacts strongly against this untrue statement and clarifies as following:

Kosovo Police is a law enforcement institution and on its legal mandate as a mission has the Preservation of Public Order and Security, Overall Safety in the country as well as operates within the constitutional and legal competencies.

The management structure of Kosovo Police provides professional management according to known management methods for all the organizational, operational and investigative issues within KP.

Regarding the untrue allegations and statements of Mr. Molliqaj, who is trying to present Kosovo Police as a non-professional institution, we would like to re-emphasis that Kosovo Police is a professional institution, committed in fulfilling the mission, vision and its objectives and unaffected by any influence or claim from outside, including even the untrue and tendentious claims of Mr. Molliqaj.

The tendency to present KP as an influenced institution by external factors especially lynching the KP management staff is considered as slander and labelling of the values representing police personnel, who sacrifice day and night for the safety of Kosovo citizens.

Referring the statements about the interception, we assure the public that the interception of telecommunication is conducted in accordance with the legislation in power, with the Kosovo Criminal Procedure Code and the Law for Interception of Electronic Communications no. 5/L-030, and always based on the legal order of the competent Court.

Kosovo Police considers that the statement of Mr. Molliqaj is indicative for the fact that in all circumstances when we are 100% focused on the vital and major issues for the safety and national interest of Kosovo, the same person appears with tendentious statements trying to create confusion in the public, and this approach is only in the benefit of Kosovo enemies and not of its citizens.  

The engagement and commitment of KP will always be the public trust for the Police, and such statements as of Mr. Molliqaj in no case will not fade the image and commitment of KP to serve the Country.

Kosovo Police remains committed in performing all its legal and constitutional duties and obligations.

Therefore, we consider that the public should be informed rightly and correctly, and in no case be misinformed as in the concrete case by Mr. Molliqaj.
