In order to inform the public rightly regarding the articles and
statements published today on (09.01.2016) in media and portals, that allegedly
Kosovo Police is stopping and hindering the protesters who in an organized
manner are coming with bus to Prishtina from various regions, this statement is
not true and does not stand.
Also, the statements on media that Kosovo Police has beaten and
mistreated various protesters including those from Albania, does not stand and
is not true at all.
As we have notified, Kosovo Police (KP) has
done all the necessary preparation by drafting an operational plan, to care
about the overall safety in the Republic of Kosovo, maintaining of order and
public peace, implementation of law, as well as undertaking of necessary police
measures against possible illegal actions and combating of all negative
phenomenon that could cause instability.
Therefore, referring the police plan and legal responsibilities we have,
KP is undertaking its actions in conformity with legal authorizations,
including the road traffic, but in no case we haven’t stopped or impede the
circulation of any bus at any region.
While, in
the border crossing point that connects the Republic of Kosovo with the
Republic of Albania, based on the legal border procedures, a number of forty
two (42) persons were refused to enter in Kosovo.

Police emphasizes that it recognizes the right of citizens for public
gatherings, free speech in public gatherings, protests and public
manifestations, in accordance with the Constitution and laws in force.

Police assures the wide public that it will undertake all the necessary
measures on implementation of law, guaranteeing of the order and public peace,
free movement and progress of this protest in a quiet manner and without
incidents, which is our priority.
