Kosovo Police, respectively the Directorate for Investigation of Trafficking with Human beings, conducted some police operations which resulted on arresting of ten persons, under grounded suspicion of committing the criminal offence of ‘trafficking with humans’.

First case:

DITHB on 10 November 2016, in the Vitia city, conducted a police operation based on proofs and evidences which resulted on arresting of four persons and identification of two trafficking victims.

The suspects arrested in this case are:

 N. A. Born on 1973 m/a/k

 R. S. Born on 1983 m/a/k

 A. I. Born on 1975 m/a/k

 B. H. Born on 1990 m/a/k

As material evidences are seized:

• 2 vehicles and

• 4  mobile phones

The arrested suspects are alleged to having committed the criminal offence ‘trafficking with humans’ and ‘sexual services of the trafficked victim’, who then by the decision of the prosecutor were taken in custody for 48 hours.

Second case:

DITHB in Ferizaj has implemented a Basic Court order and an order control in a premise, where five persons were arrested for committing the criminal offence of ‘enabling in prostitution’ , ‘provision of the premise for prostitution’ and ‘dealing with prostitution’.

Persons arrested in this case are:

 Sh. B. Born on 1973 f/Bosnian/k

 E. K. Born on 1966 f/ashkali/k

 S. R. Born on 1940 m/a/k

 A. B. Born on 1982 m/a/k

The arrested suspects 1 and 2 after the interview and in consultation and by the decision of the Basic Court prosecutor in Ferizaj, were taken to the detention centre for 48 hours, while the suspects 3, 4 and 5 were released in regular procedure for ‘dealing with prostitution’.

It is worth mentioning that during this control four female citizens from the Republic of Albania were found residing in this premise and for this was notified the Migration Unit, where the personal documents for illegal stay in the Republic of Kosovo were confiscated and there will be taken measures according to the law on foreigners.

Third case:

In the Gjilan region, UITHB has arrested one suspect under grounded suspicion for committing the criminal offence ‘sexual services of the trafficked victim’.

The suspect arrested in this case is:

• H. M. born on  1950 m/a/k

Regarding this case, the UITHB investigators have identified one trafficking victim as well.

By the decision of the State prosecutor, the suspect was detained for 48 hours. 

Fourth case:

While on 10.11.2016 at about 20:16 in the highway Ferizaj-Prishtinë, by the police units are stopped two suspects (J.I) male from Macedonia and (B.F) female from Kosovo, who as suspects were taken to the PS/Ferizaj.

After interviewing procedures by the police investigators of UITHB-Ferizaj, the suspects in question according to their statements are suspected to having committed the criminal offence ‘Dealing with Prostitution. 

The Macedonian suspect’s passport was seized with the aim to ensure its presence at the Basic Court in Ferizaj-Division of Offences.
