Prishtina 27th of January 2016

Today on 27.01.2016, afternoon, General Director of Police Mr. Shpend Maxhuni hosted American Ambassador Mr. Greg Delawie, as well as other officials from ICITAP, Mr. Bill Bochtere and Mr. Ron Fisher in a meeting. 

Current situation in our country as well as events and previous protests were discussed in this meeting. 

Ambassador Delawie expressed his impression with the Kosovo Police approach in managing protests and highly evaluated the professional approach and dedication of Kosovo Police toward its citizens. 

Among other topics in this meeting, it was also discussed the combat against terrorism, radicalism and violent extremism, as well as unreserved support and cooperation by the American Embassy in the combat against organized crime, corruption and cyber-crimes. In this regard, the increase of capacities in many fields was stressed as well. 

During the meeting it was also mentioned the KP professional approach in some cases dealing with American citizens who were staying in our country and the trust given toward KP in solving certain cases. The ambassador expressed his gratitude for this.

Ambassador Delawie once again confirmed the help and support for Kosovo Police with all its capacities in its path to provide security and order for all its citizens, and the evaluation that Kosovo Police is one of the most professional police organizations in the region.

At the same time, General Director of Police Mr. Maxhuni thanked the Ambassador Delawie for its continuous support coming from the American Embassy in Prishtina toward Kosovo Police.
