Prishtinë, 12 March 2018

           The General Director of Kosovo Police (KP) Mr. Shpend Maxhuni accompanied by his senior staff, today on 12.03.2018 in an official meeting hosted the General Director of Albanian Police Mr. Ardi Veliu also accompanied by senior police officers of the State. 

The meeting was held in the environment of the General Directorate of KP where Mr. Maxhuni initially thanked Mr. Veliu for his visit and at the same time congratulated him for the appointment as General Director of the State Police.

Director Maxhuni informed the participants about the engagements, activities and objectives of Kosovo Police as well as the ongoing commitment in fulfilling its legal tasks and obligations in the best of safety and order in the Republic of Kosovo.

            Kosovo Police has professional capacities and is prepared to provide safety, to combat the organized crime as well as to closely cooperate with the police organizations with the aim to further advance the mutual cooperation in the field of safety and prevention of terrorism and violent extremism. 

It was mentioned that Kosovo Police has excellent cooperation with the Albanian police authorities and this cooperation has shown positive results in various fields, including successes in joint police patrolling.

While, the general Director of Albania Mr. Veliu thanked Mr. Maxhuni for hosting and at the same time appreciated the work of Kosovo Police in general, especially in the cooperation shown with the Albanian police authorities. 

                               Director Veliu also confirmed that he will continue to cooperate and support Kosovo Police in various fields with common police interest, including the facilitation of border crossing.

Mr. Veliu during the meeting pledged for the mutual cooperation even in the future, including the exchange of police experiences through the police officers, trainings in various fields with the aim to further advance both police organizations which have common goals in prevention and combating the criminality, including the trans-border criminality.
