Prishtina, on 21st of November 2024

The Directorate of Investigation of Cyber Crimes, after months of investigative actions, in coordination with the State Prosecutor’s Office (Basic Prosecutor’s Office Pristina) and supported by the relevant police units, has implemented the court order, conducting inspections in four various locations in Pristina and Mitrovica.

The suspects, in cooperation with each other and with the aim of illegally obtaining material benefit for themselves or for another person, have used the bank cards of various citizens without authorization, making transactions and purchasing various items (through Online platforms). The suspects initially managed to obtain electronic data of bank cards through various means, using specific computer equipment and programs, they have also cloned bank cards and then used them for various services, mainly Online and physical.

During this police operation, four (4) suspects were arrested, while, as material evidence, the following were seized:

– two computers,

– about 10,000.00 (ten thousand) euros in various currencies,

– eight mobile phones,

– three cars,

– one motorcycle,

– equipment for cloning bank cards,

– blank cards for cloning purposes, as well as relevant documents related to the criminal offense.

By the decision of the competent prosecutor, three of the suspects were taken into custody, while one was released in a regular procedure. All further actions will be undertaken in cooperation and coordination with the justice authorities.
