Gjatë vizitës së Zëvendës Ndihmës Sekretarit (ZNS) Gabriel Escobar në Kosovë, ai kërkoi dhe ju dha kohë për tu takuar me të venë dhe djemtë e rreshterit të vrarë Afrim Bunjaku, të cilët shoqëroheshin nga Drejtori i Përgjithshëm i Policisë së Kosovës, Gazmend Hoxha. ZNS Escobar, në prani të Ambasadorit të SHBA-së Jeffrey Hovenier, dhe Atasheut të DOJ-ICITAP-it Kimberly Riffe, shprehu ngushëllimet e tij të sinqerta familjes për humbjen tragjike të babait/bashkëshortit të tyre. Ngjarja ishte shumë emocionuese dhe e përzemërt dhe personalitetet e larta i shprehën ngushëllimet e tyre familjes dhe Policisë së Kosovës.

Në një takim të veçantë, DP Hoxha informoi ZNS Escobarin dhe atasheun Riffe për sulmin ndaj policisë në Banjskë më 24 shtator 2023, ku mbeti i vrarë rreshteri Bunjaku, dhe situatën aktuale të sigurisë në pjesën veriore të Kosovës. ZNS Escobar vlerësoi mundësinë për të komunikuar drejtpërdrejt më kreun e Policisë së Kosovës. DP Hoxha përcolli mirënjohjen e tij të thellë për Shtetet e Bashkuara dhe stafin e shumtë të ambasadës që ndihmojnë policinë dhe janë të përkushtuar për të vazhduar bashkëpunimin e tyre të shkëlqyer.

During Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) Gabriel Escobar’s visit to Kosovo, he requested and was afforded time to meet with slain Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku’s widow and sons, who were accompanied by the General Director of the Kosovo Police Gazmend Hoxha. DAS Escobar, in the presence of U.S. Ambassador Jeffrey Hovenier, and DOJ-ICITAP Attache Kimberly Riffe, offered his sincere condolences to the family for the tragic loss of their father/husband. The event was very emotional and heartfelt as the dignitaries conveyed their sympathy to the family and the Kosovo Police.

In a separate meeting, GD Hoxha provided DAS Escobar and Attache Riffe with a briefing of the September 24, 2023, attack on the police at Banjska, where Sergeant Bunjaku was murdered, and the current state of security in the northern region of Kosovo. DAS Escobar was appreciative of the opportunity to communicate directly with the Kosovo Police leader. GD Hoxha conveyed his deep appreciation to the United States and the many Embassy agencies assisting the police and committed to continuing the excellent cooperation.

Tokom posete zamenika pomoćnika državnog sekretara (DAS) Gabrijela Eskobara Kosovu, on je zatražio i dobio priliku da se sastane sa udovicom i sinovima ubijenog narednika Afrima Bunjakua, koji su bili u pratnji generalnog direktora Kosovske Policije Gazmenda Hodže. Zamenik pomoćnika državnog sekretara Eskobar, u prisustvu američkog ambasadora Džefrija Hovenijera, i DOJ-ICITAP atašea Kimberli Rajf, izrazio je iskreno saučešće porodici zbog tragičnog gubitka oca i muža. Događaj je bio veoma emotivan i iskren, dok su zvanice izrazile svoje saučešće porodici i Kosovskoj Policiji.

Na odvojenom sastanku, generalni direktor Hodža je zamenika pomoćnika državnog sekretara Eskobara i atašea Rajf, informisao o napadu na policiju koji se dogodio 24. septembra, 2023 godine u Banjskoj, gde je ubijen narednik Bunjaku, i o trenutnom stanju bezbednosti u severnom delu Kosova. Zamenik pomoćnika državnog sekretara Eskobar je bio zahvalan na mogućnosti da direktno komunicira sa liderom Kosovske Policije. Generalni direktor Hodža je izrazio svoju duboku zahvalnost Sjedinjenim Državama i mnogim agencijama ambasade koje pomažu policiji i obavezao se da će nastaviti odličnu saradnju.
