Prishtina 15th of January 2022

On 14.01.2022 at about 21:40 at border crossing point in Merdare connecting Serbia with Republic of Kosovo (RKS) at the entrance of our country there came three vehicles (one vehicle two trucks) Serbian license plates with six persons.

Police unit during the implementation of their duties and procedures-checks that are implemented during border crossing have noticed that the trucks were loaded with a material suspected to be used for “referendum” expected to take place in Serbia.

Based on the official information, police duties and authorizations, they were stopped from entering in RKS, for the material being transported without respective permission.

In cooperation and coordination with justice bodies, two transporting means (trucks) were sent at the respective customs authorities and after the interview the persons with their vehicle have gone back to Serbia.

The case will continue to be treated in cooperation with respective institutions and justice bodies.
