Today, on 19th of September 2018, at the premises of the General Directorate of Kosovo Police (KP), the KP Directorate against Terrorism was the host of the tripartite meeting, with the anti-terrorist directorates of the Italian Police and Albanian Police.

This meeting comes as a result of previous meetings in Italy and Albania, in the context of assessing current threats and continuing mutual co-operation between the three police organizations.

The meeting was also welcomed by the Director General of KP, Rashit QALAJ, who among others said, “Considering that terrorism as a phenomenon has a very broad stretch, exceeding national or regional borders, no country alone can be successful in preventing and fighting terrorism. The only way to guarantee success in this respect is cooperation and timely exchange of information, so we as a Kosovo Police highly appreciate this tripartite cooperation initiative between the Kosovo Police, the Italian Police and the Albanian Police, which obviously is of particular importance for the security of all our countries, but also contributes to regional security as well as to global security. “

Director Qalaj finally at the end emphasized that cooperation within this group as well as other forms of cooperation will have the full support of the Kosovo Police as an important partner in regional and global security and will open the way to full membership on international security mechanisms. Among others Qalaj emphasized that he will seek the help and support of representative institutions in the efforts of KP membership at INTERPOL, during the general assembly in November this year.

During the meeting, the participants pledged for mutual cooperation and commitment to advancing information exchange and support among partners, with common interests in preventing and fighting this phenomenon.
