Kosova Police, respectively the Directorate for Investigation of War Crimes, after several months of investigations, on 20.06.2024 submitted the Special Prosecution of the RKS, the criminal charge against the suspect, under the grounded suspicion for committing the criminal offence “War Crimes against the civilian population” during the war in Kosova, in Gjakova region (1998/1999).

From the latest consultations with the Case Prosecutor has been concluded that in order to ensure the defendant’s presence in this criminal case, further investigations must be carried out.

Therefore, today on 27.06.2024 Kosova Police, respectively the investigators from the Directorate for investigation of war crimes (DIWC) in cooperation with the KIA agents as well as other law enforcement units of RDP North Mitrovica carried out a tactical plan in Leposaviq where the suspect m/s with the initials (S.L.) was stopped and arrested.

By the order of the justice bodies, his house in Leposaviq was raid where the investigators have seized some relevant evidences, which will be handled during the investigation procedure.

The suspect was taken to the police premises for further interviewing procedures.
