Prishtinë, on 13 July 2021

The Directorate for Investigation of Organized Crime, the Sector for Investigation of Cybercrime, after taking investigative and operational actions arrested one (1) suspect (A.A.) who through social networks is suspected to have deceived citizens by asking them for money to help sick children / people.

The suspect for committing this fraud used photos of sick children / persons without authorization, posting them on social networks and then citizens have made payments in various amounts through financial institutions (fast money), believing that they are sending money to people in need, in this case to sick people.

Police units have checked two locations and as material evidences the following were seized:

– A mobile phone and

– A laptop.

After the completion of the interviewing procedures, with the decision of the competent prosecutor, the suspect has been taken into custody.

Kosovo Police continues its commitment and dedication in carrying out its legal duties and powers, in order to guarantee a peaceful and safe environment for all and to bring the persons involved in criminal activities to justice.
