Kosovo Police, specifically police investigators from the regional unit for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption in Pristina, in consultation with the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Pristina, today on 29.06.2023, after several operational/tactical and investigative actions managed to secure information and evidence for the suspect with the initials (B.V.), who was previously arrested by the Police station in Drenas under the suspicion of committing the criminal offense “Domestic Violence”, and was also suspected of committing another criminal offense.

After the suspect was taken to the Police Station, the Police asked him to put the things he has with him on the table. The suspect, in addition to his personal belongings, had taken out of his pockets money in the amount about nineteen thousand euros (19,000.00), for which he did not have any evidence of their origin, except for the verbal declaration that he saved the money from his salaries as an educator and from his work in agriculture (trade in different agricultural cultures).

On the basis of these actions, there was suspected that the above-mentioned suspect is suspected to have committed the criminal offense:

• “Prohibited trade” determined by the criminal code of the RKS.

In consultation and coordination with the competent Prosecutor from PTH – Prishtina, today on 29.06.2023, the aforementioned suspect was taken to the offices of the regional unit for the investigation of economic crimes and corruption in Pristina, in which case he was interviewed in the capacity of the suspect in the presence of the Defense Attorney and the competent Prosecutor from PTH – Prishtina (General Department) was consulted for the criminal offense of “Domestic Violence” and with a Decision on the Prohibition by the Prosecutor on Duty, the suspect is taken to detention for 48 hours, while for the criminal offense “Prohibited trade”, in consultation with the prosecutor on duty from PTH – Prishtina (General Department), the money that the suspect had on him was temporarily seized, while other investigations related to the case are in process.
