Prishtina, 06th of April 2021

Kosovo Police respectively the Directorate of Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (DHKEK) after the several months of investigation and based on the material evidence and relevant proofs, today 06.04.2021 in cooperation and coordination with the competent Prosecution, conducted the police operation on the grounded suspicion that several persons are involved in the criminal activity of “Usury”.

Referring to the investigations conducted by the order of the Basic Court in Peja, in this process are applied the covert technical measures and during the surveillance through these measures it was possible to collect the intelligence that the person (B. U. 1963) from the Peja Region, already arrested, is suspected of having committed the criminal offense ‘Usury’.

He is suspected that by this criminal offense he gained high amount of money from various persons by applying higher percentage of interest, and during the background check it was found that the person in question was recidivist of various criminal offenses.

By the support of the Special Operational Unit (NJSO), based on the Court Order for the search/raid was conducted at his house and additional facilities in the possession of the suspect.

By the decision of the competent prosecutor, the suspect after the interrogation was taken to the detention for 48 hours.
