Kosovo Police (KP) within its active commitments, in preventing and fighting criminal offences, respectively the Directorate of Investigation of Trafficking in Human Beings (DITHB), with the aim of taking proactive measures and verifying information in the field, drafted the operational plan for inspecting massage salons, conducted in cooperation and with the support of municipal inspectors, work inspectors, KTA agency, inspectors of MINT and other units profiled within KP.

The operational plan ,,Masazha-2021’’ implemented during this month at the country level, resulted in the arrest of six (6) suspects on the grounded suspicion for being involved in criminal offences “Enabling or Forcing into Prostitution” , “Providing Premises for Prostitution” and “Co-perpetration ”.

During this police operation, under the authorization of the judiciary bodies and in cooperation with the competent institutions, fifty-three (53) premises were inspected, out of which twenty-nine (29) premises were closed by municipal inspectors and fines were imposed for the lack of fiscal cash registers, the lack of working documents, etc.

One hundred and ninety-six (196) persons of different nationalities were identified by police officers during this operation, such as from Albania, Thailand, Italy, Greece, Romania, Serbia and Kosovo, where all foreign nationals for the lack of a work permit and residence, according to the procedures are handled by the Directorate for Migration and Foreigners as their subject competence.

The suspects by the decision of the competent prosecutor, were taken to forty-eight (48) hours custody.
