After increased commitments, during the implementation of an operational plan through technological equipment, in the mountain of Roshkodol – Municipality of Deçan in a deep mountainous area, Kosovo Police located a place where it was suspected that narcotic plants were being cultivated.

On 29.07.2024, the specialized border units, together with the anti-drug unit, went to the suspected location, where 4 greenhouses were found at the scene, in which suspected marijuana-type narcotic plants had been planted, which were allegedly burned by suspected persons.

Based on the inspection of the scene, it is suspected that around 300 narcotic plants of the size from/up to 1-2m in length were planted.

Regarding the case, the relevant units at the scene have received the following material evidence:

• Samples of narcotic plants,

• One (1) AK-47 weapon with 32 cartridges,

• One (1) cartridge of hunting weapons, etc.

The material evidence of narcotic plants that remained unburned, after consultation with the relevant prosecutor, were destroyed at the scene, while after consultation with the competent prosecutor, the case was initiated for the offences “Cultivation of narcotic plants” and “Unauthorized possession of weapons and ammunition.”

In relation to the case, since the area is located near the border, the Border Police of the Republic of Albania and Montenegro were also contacted, which have activated their units in the respective areas of their countries.
