On September 25, 2023, on the occasion of the heroic fall of police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku in the village of Banjskë, under the patronage of the Minister of Internal Affairs Mr. Xhelal Sveçla and the General Director of the Kosovo Police Colonel Gazmend Hoxha, a commemorative meeting was held in Pristina as well as his burial ceremony in the village of Samadrexhe in Vushtrri.

With their presence, the work and image of Sergeant Afrim Bunjak were honoured by the highest state personalities such as: the President of the Republic of Kosovo, the Speaker of the Assembly, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, family members of the hero, ministers, the general director of the KP, deputy ministers and lawmakers of the RKS Assembly, mayors of municipalities, representatives from the KSF and Kosovo Customs, representatives from the Republic of Albania, ambassadors, representatives of local and international institutions, superiors and colleagues from Kosovo Police, as well as citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

The state dignitaries such as: General Director of KP, family members of the hero Afrim Bunjaku, the mufti of the Islamic Community of Kosovo and the mayor of Vushtrri municipality addressed the participants at both ceremonies

The President of the Country on behalf of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo awarded for Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku the highest Post Mortem order of the Republic, the order “Kosovo Hero”
