Today, on 13.05.2022, the General Director of Kosovo Police Mr. Samedin Mehmeti hosted a meeting with the United States Ambassador to Kosovo, Mr. Jeffrey M. Hovenier. This was an introductory meeting, the first meeting between the recently arrived U.S. Ambassador in our country and the lead of the Kosovo Police.

Initially, Mr. Mehmeti thanked Ambassador Hovenier for visiting Kosovo Police, he emphasized the continuous cooperation between the U.S. Embassy and KP. He also welcomed the Ambassador and wished him much success in his assignment as the Chief of Mission. Mr. Mehmeti thanked the taxpayers of the United States for the ongoing and unwavering support to Kosovo Police.

Ambassador Hovenier expressed his gratitude for this meeting and emphasized the importance of the Kosovo Police with public peace, order, and law enforcement especially in the country’s democracy. The Ambassador committed to continued support and cooperation to further professionalize the Kosovo Police.

The meeting additionally focused on deepening citizen engagements with special focus on minority communities, advancement of skills in operational areas, change management, uniting the police, and the crucial role police has in Kosovo’s future.
