Prishtina 16th of January 2022

Referring to the information related to the warnings that on 16th of January 2022 a referendum on constitutional changes is planned to be held in Serbia and the same will be organized in the Republic of Kosovo as well, Kosovo Police as a law enforcement institution in cooperation with the competent authorities, based on the legal acts and resolution approved by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, made its operational plans for maintaining the Constitutional order of RKS as well as keeping peace and order in the country.

In this regard Kosovo Police drafted the operational order where there are foreseen Police measures and actions in the function of keeping constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo and guaranteeing general security. Also there are foreseen all operational planning and actions for managing security and professional reaction in the occasion of citizens security or constitutional order in our country.

The situation is assessed and it has been calm and without any incidents, except some gatherings and marching in different locations/cities, as a result of expressing their dissatisfaction for not allowing the referendum in Kosovo.

Kosovo Police is committed in performing its duties and powers conform legal and constitutional powers as well as guaranteeing overall security in the country.
