Prishtinë, 14.10.2021

Kosovo Police, respectively the Directorate for Investigation of Trafficking in Human Beings – Unit in Gjilan, in coordination with the State Prosecution office, after several-months investigation, today on 14.10.2021 has undertaken concrete measures where three (3) suspects male/Kosovars have been arrested under suspicion of committing the criminal offences “Trafficking in humans” , ”Sexual services of the victim of trafficking” as well as “enabling and coercion into prostitution”.

Regarding this case, there has been identified the victim of trafficking (female) who was interviewed at the presence of the employee of Centre for Social Welfare (CSW) as well the victims advocate and all the services according to the procedure have been provided to her.

With the decision of the State Prosecutor, the three (3) suspects have been taken to the detention centre for 48 hours for further procedures, while other investigations regarding this case are in process.

Kosovo Police with the competent authorities remains committed in prevention and combating the negative phenomenon as well as criminal offences determined in the penal code in general, while rigorous measures will be undertaken against all the individuals who violate the applicable laws in the Republic of Kosovo.
