Kosovo Police, respectively the Directorate of Investigation of Trafficking in Human Beings, within the campaign ‘Don’t be silent – stop human trafficking’, conducted several activities.
With the aim to prevent and early identify potential victims of trafficking in human beings, the DITHB conducted an operational plan coded as “Identifying children in street situations as potential victims of trafficking “in several regions of Kosovo, from 26 up to 30 October 2020.
While conducting this operational plan above others there has been engaged a considerable number of police personnel in several regions, where the identification of involved persons has been made:
Also, besides the above-mentioned identified persons, as suspects involved in these cases there were identified 10 persons against whom criminal charges have been filed as well as there were initiated 9 cases ‘Child abuse or abandonment’ pursuant to the article 250 of the Kosovo Criminal Code.
Also, in the procedures for handling the cases of all begging children, in the presence of the CSW employees, the form for the notes of the beggars was filled in, where they were accompanied by their family members and provided with documents.
Kosovo Police shall continue to be committed in conducting activities with the aim to prevent and handle such cases, in order to provide a safe environment for the society.
