The General Director of Kosovo Police Mr. Rashit Qalaj during the visit in Washington D.C. USA, has conducted several official meetings with various law enforcement agencies.
The official meetings of the director Qalaj with its staff, including the Director of Investigation Department Mr. Riza Shillova, the director of the Human Resources Department Mrs. Taibe Canolli, the director of the Department against Organized Crimes Mrs. Florie Hajra, the liaison officer of Kosovo Police in Washington Captain Lulzim Krasniqi, aimed the increase of cooperation between the Kosovo Police and respective Institutions in USA.
On 10.06.2019 in Washington DC there were conducted three important meetings, starting from the first meeting with the Interpol Director in Washington Mr. Wayne Salzberg and his deputy-director Mr. Michael A. Hughes where there was discussed about the cooperation and the needs of US support in the process of Kosovo membership in the INTERPOL organization.
The agenda of Kosovo delegation continued on the second meeting in US Department, respectively in the International Office for Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) with Mr. Jorgan Andrews deputy secretary assistant for Europe, where there was discussed about the mutual cooperation as well as the support for Kosovo Police and for various projects in the future.
The General Director thanked the INL officers for the support and ensured them that Kosovo Police will remain an important partner in the field of law enforcement. In addition, in this meeting there were discussed many projects which shall help KP in the process of reformation, with the aim to increase the police efficiency and effectiveness.
The agenda was concluded with the third meeting, where director Qalaj with his staff was hosted in an amicable meeting by Mr. Gregory Ducot, where there were discussed the topics about the cooperation and support of ICITAP for Kosovo Police.
In this case, Mr. Qalaj thanked Mr. Ducot for the great support of ICITAP for KP in the field of increasing capacities as in the aspect of human resources as well as for the support in the field of technical and technological capacities.
This several-days visit was of a special importance and aimed the continuation of the inter-police between both countries, as well as the intensification of the police relations of common interest.
