The Regional Traffic Unit, within the Regional Directorate Mitrovica, during the last week has continued to undertake additional security measures in road traffic, in identification and punishing for offences, where in the focus were the offences, speed limit and dangerous overtaking.

The additional measures are as a result and necessity, where based on the evaluations done, one of the main causes of accidents is considered to be exceeding speed limits and dangerous overtaking. 

As a result of additional measures, last week by the Regional Traffic Unit, 403 traffic tickets are imposed, 301 of which are for exceeding the speed limit and dangerous overtaking. 

The Regional Traffic Unit in Mitrovica, based on the action plan will continue to intensify actions and preventive measures in the law enforcement field and road traffic safety.

The police calls all traffic participants to obey and respect road traffic rules, in order to avoid sanctions that the Police is obliged to undertake by law, in order to prevent and reduce road traffic accidents. 

Police units will continue in implementing legal duties and responsibilities, in order to increase the overall security including road traffic safety as well.
