Kosovo Police, respectively the Directorate of Investigation of Organized Crime after the investigations conducted for several months about the criminal activities of a group, which in cooperation had constantly smuggled migrants to the countries of the European Union, today on 04.03.2015 in the Prishtina region, conducted a police operation coded with the name “ZËRI”, where one suspect has been arrested as well as his house and its additional facilities have been checked.

The suspect in cooperation with two other suspects from Serbia, Hungary and other EU countries managed to smuggle persons from Kosovo to the EU countries, benefiting illegally from them.

This group while committing this criminal activity used the roads from Kosovo through the territory of Serbia then to Hungary with the aim to go from there to other European countries. For transporting the victims, this group used private transportation such as vehicles, but also regular bus lines to Serbia.

The price for a migrant was about 1600-2100 euro, depending on the final destination. During the investigation process there have been identified about 20 victims of this crime, who have been cheated by this criminal group.
The identified migrants are from all the regions of Kosovo.

The arrested suspect is:

1. A. G. Born on. 1969 Kosovar/Albanian

During this operation as material evidences there have been seized:

1. 1 (one) vehicle of the type Mercedes
2. 2 (two) mob. phones
3. 2 (TWO) SIM cards and
4. Other documents.

The suspected person with the order of the prosecutor has been taken to custody for further proceedings.
Investigations on this case will go on in order to identify other possible suspects.
